Random stuff in November

Here's a few random fun things that we did in November.

We went to a "tangled" party and Shay and Jazzie got t-shirts from the movie.  As you can see, I had to force Shayden to wear his shirt even though I thought it was "boyish".

On Saturday Jasmine scored this cotton candy maker at D.I. for only $5.  It was brand new in the box even!

For the premiere of Harry Potter, I got to go paint faces at the movie theater!  It was a blast.

This is Megan, the girl that invited me to paint for the premiere.  We had a blast!

And the rest of these pictures are from the first big snow storm of the year.
The kids went out and tried to build a snowman, and even Taye went out and had fun.

Disney on Ice and the BEST day ever!

The day we went to see disney on ice was a great day.  Good things just kept happening.
A great family in our ward was bringing us a piano that they were giving us (for free!) later that night, and during the day I scored a free pair of glasses and bought tickets to see the Rockettes for Christmas!  We had been trying to go see Disney on Ice for forever, and this year it all worked out finally.  We got free tickets for donating food to the food bank, which is a good thing to do anyway.
It was super fun and the kids loved it, of course.

I love this picture of Ariel, so eloquent.

Trip to Long Beach

We wanted to take a trip to California for the day but it was supposed to be bad weather so we planned to go to the Aquarium of the Americas only.  But does this look like bad weather to you?

We took the bus to downtown Long Beach and had ourselves a beautiful walk to the Aquarium itself.
It was a gorgeous day and it made us want to hang out by the pier all day,
but we had already purchased out tickets.

All of the kids were facinated but Taye was really in awe.

For sure the highlight of the Aquarium was petting sharks!

At the end we ate at Bubba Gump.  A place that is special to us, since our honeymoon.  An all around great day!

Halloween 2010

The week of Halloween we have made a tradition of going to Draper City's celebration.  It is a fun party.

There are lot's of free games for the kids, and it just gives them one more excuse to dress up.

Even Taye got into some of the games.

There is always a day when we get out the wigs and costumes and just act silly :)

This year I took Tayevion with me to the nursing home to give out candy to the elderly.  It was this thing with the Mommies club here.   He didn't really get it at first, of course he thought he should get all of the candy. Notice that twice I tried to paint his face but it was no use so in the end he just went bare faced, haha.

Check out this cool wig thing that I got at Gardner Village this year.  Isn't it cool? It looks like medusa with lights!  I went trick or treating with this on!  In October a HUGE face painting gig at Gardner Village landed in my lap.  So this was after one of the long, tiring, but lucrative days.

Jasmine was a witch.

She didn't want to wear her hat in this picture, so her hair was a mess.

Shayden was Goku from Dragon Ball Z-Kai

Taye was the cutest little lion ever!  Shay wore this when he was two also.  It's so fun to see the costumes "recycled".

Taye Turns Two!

Tayevion has the joy (hmm?) of having a Halloween Birthday.  Actually, I think he will like it very much growing up.  I mean, there is a party pretty much all month long that consists of dressing up and uh...candy.  What's not to like right?
But for me, it is just kind of stressful, adding a birthday in with everything else going on.  And as he gets older, I just anticipate it getting more stressful.  Unless I get my act together and get more organized.
I can dream.

At his cousins birthday party, he loved the presents!

Here he is in wonder of his cake.

"I'm Two Now!"

Yum!
Back at home, Taye got to open up his new toy: a basketball hoop!  And let me tell you, he has definately made good use of it!

Oh Taye, the baby of the family.  He is such a sweet little boy, when he wants to be.  Other times he is as agressive as they come. But he is the youngest, plus training to be a quarterback, so that is to be expected. He amazes us with talents way beyond his years every day.  He is gifted in anything physical, but also smart as ever, and tough as nails!  Happy Birthday!

Walk for Breast Cancer

We had the chance to do a 5k for breast cancer in October as a family.  It was the first time that we did this and it was a really good experience.  It was very touching to see all of the people that had been affected by this disease.  And having had a close friend (and boss) of mine pass away from breast cancer, it made me reflect a lot on her, which was good.  And sad.

After the walk, we headed over to the Farmers Market at Pioneer Park.  It's one of our favorite things to do, but we only make it once, toward the end of the season.  We saw this guy playing the "portable piano"?  We thought it was super cool and creative.

Volunteering at School

I love being able to go in and volunteer in the kids' classrooms each week.  This was taken on some random day in October.  Jasmine was at recess.  Nice view right?
It just gives me such good insight to be in the classroom. I can see who they are hanging out with, little details on projects that may not have made it home, and soooo many other reasons.  Plus the more I can help with, the more the teacher can focus on the kids. Not to mention the fact that they love it, and as a kid my mom could never come in and help in class.  Both kids get really bummed out if I have to miss a day.  And I know almost all of the kids in their classes now, especially the ones in Shayden's class that I have known since Kindergarten.

Kiki's Birthday

This is my niece, I call her Kiki.  She is a barbie and Carrie Underwood nut.

Happy Birthday!

Cornbellys October 2010

We love going to Cornbellys in the fall.  It is kind of (okay very) expensive but they always have deals, so we go on one of those nights.  There is sooo much to do!

Taye is such a climber...look at those legs.  He is one tough cookie!

Things like riding bikes in hay mazes...

And dressing up in as cute princes and princesses...

And saving damsels in distress...

And roasting marshmellows for smores...

And exclaiming your joy to all of the world...

And performing in front of a crowd...

And just plain lookin' adorable!
