Volunteering at School

I love being able to go in and volunteer in the kids' classrooms each week.  This was taken on some random day in October.  Jasmine was at recess.  Nice view right?

It just gives me such good insight to be in the classroom. I can see who they are hanging out with, little details on projects that may not have made it home, and soooo many other reasons.  Plus the more I can help with, the more the teacher can focus on the kids. Not to mention the fact that they love it, and as a kid my mom could never come in and help in class.  Both kids get really bummed out if I have to miss a day.  And I know almost all of the kids in their classes now, especially the ones in Shayden's class that I have known since Kindergarten.

My Only Childhood Dress

This is the only dress that I have from when I was a little girl.  I was so excited when Jasmine could fit into it!  She wore it proudly many times, but now it is too small.  So she is going to get to keep it for when she has a daughter that can wear it.

Slime Experiments

Ethan's mom had the greatest idea last year for his Birthday. The kids were supposed to bring a gift of "time". So we decided to invite him over for science experiments!

Nice that it happened about 10 months after his birthday...slacker am I, but we will forget that part.

Lazy Summer Day in July (who knows the date?)

This summer it feels like we didn't get too many lazy summer days...hmm...I wonder why that is? (That was a rhetorical question!)
But here is proof that we did have a few.

Swimming Lessons 2009

Swim lessons went well this year, except for the fact that there are still things that they both need to work on to move onto the next level.

Jasmine was in level 1 and passed everything but the teacher felt that she needed to get more comfortable in the water.

Shayden was in level 3 this year which I hear is the hardest to pass. He did awesome, especially since this level is not so much the fun and games that all the other levels are! He loved jumping off the diving board.

They both had so much fun, and I loved being able to take the baby to get a little bit wet too.

Doing such a good job of putting the baby to sleep in the car that she put herself to sleep too. This has happened to both older kids now!

Oh how he loves his big sister!

This is the machine, that plugs into the wall...

that goes in the nose, that sucks the snot, that keeps the baby up at night!

What you can't really see is the brand on this baby, it's "Shuco" which ironically means kind of like "gross" in Spanish. How fitting.

Does anyone else have a machine like this at their pediatrician's office?

A Day in the LIFE of Taye

What does a 3 month old have to say about being in our household? hmm...

"I'm a very serious kind of guy and I love my binky...




I don't like to be left alone...it makes me scared...

The older kid likes to take good care of me. He rocks me and plays with me and he even reads me books...

The girl also likes to take care of me. She sings and dances for me too. Lately she has started to tote me around in her baby stroller, and while I do enjoy seeing the sites...

sometimes it scares me!!
