My Princess

I have always dreamed of having a girl.

Mostly so we could do "girly" things together.

Last night we went on our first "date".

We went to see a cute little play called the 12 dancing Princesses.

Wendy and her daughter J picked us up and we were all dressed up, it was so fun.
It was kind of hot and crowded and not quite what we expected but still worth it too see the girls get all excited about the "princesses". I love it!
Then we took them to get ice cream because that is what you do and Jasmine had had it by the end of the night. She was pooped!

I look forward to so many more girly dates like this, it is my dream come true!

Mixed up Weekend

Friday I woke up (after the airport fiasco) and was determined to have a fun day out with the kids. But that didn't quite work, we went to one store and to lunch at the park and I was pooped. I had been up most of the night. We went home and I crashed. Friday and Sunday are nap days at our house. But of course this was the one day that neither of my kids would take a nap for the life of them!

Then later I went to my parents house to drop something off and I ran into some old friends and we hung out for a while and that was fun.

That night I dropped Shayden off at a birthday party and Jasmine and I met some friends at the WestFest. The kids rode carnival rides and had their faces painted. We even brought home some water frogs for our fishtank!!

Saturday was another crazy fun day~

My sister Li came into town and we traveled the valley looking for tickets to see Transformers! It's for the advance screening and our husbands really want to go.

Then this is what happens when the two of us and our million kids find a yard sale that is giving everything away! The kids were hilarious to watch! They totally scored on dress up clothes and halloween costumes!

Then we went to this yummy buffet for lunch with my parents--good thing we were starving!

It was a good day.

My bags are packed...

I HATE dissapointments. I hate CANCELLED plans.

Friday my dad and I were SUPPOSED to go to Washington D.C.

We were going to my cousin Zaidy's WEDDING.

I was REALLY looking forward to it.

But the flight on the way HOME didn't look good at all,

or I should say FLIGHTS, because we had like 4 options.

NONE of them looked good.

But I really WANTED to go.

I had ALREADY made all the arrangements, child care, etc.

My bags were PACKED...

I had a distinct FEELING we shouldn't go.

But I REALLY wanted to go.

That morning EVERYthing went wrong.

We got to the airport and we would have BARELY made it on the flight but--I had to draw the line.

Sometimes you have to listen to that little VOICE, even if it is not the popular choice.

I was pretty bummed but I felt COMFORT in the fact that we made the right choice.

Oh well...

Father's Day 2007

This is my handsome husband wearing the fabulous apron that me and the kids made just for him! He loves to grill.

To the best father of my children I could have ever asked for!

Document Document Document!

So at work (EHS) they are always telling us that if it isn't documented, it didn't happen.
I am starting to wonder if this doesn't apply to my real life. Last weekend we went to Raging Waters, the big water park here and then on Wednesday we went to Lagoon, our one and only amusement park. The only problem is I didn't take my camara either time. How am I supposed to be really good at this blogging thing if I don't have proof that things happen? Oh well...

Raging Waters was Jetblue's company party and I even vindicated myself by winning a pair of Six Flags tickets! Okay, background, last year I came SO so SO close to winning an entire Getaways Package (that's hotel--car--and airfare) not once but twice!!! So this year I was determined to win something and even studied up on my Jetblue trivia. I felt very good after winning. Unfortunatly DH had to work but my friend Leah came into town and she and her son came with us, and it was good to see her again.

My niece K works for Lagoon so she let us go for one of her family days! That was very nice of her! So it's been a good first week of summer break but now I think we need a break from the sun...Nah!

We had a "family" birthday party last night and today was
Shay's "friends" party. It was a space party and we have
been planning it for about 3 months now.
We made these little rocket packs for each of them (15) and went
on "space adventures" throughout the backyard.
Everything went perfect except I didn't have time
to decorate the cake into a rocket shape like I had planned.
But then my friend Wendy and her friend Anita came
and helped me so much including decorating the cake!
Here's the finished product:
It was so much fun and so much work and I am
glad it is done!

Happy Birthday Shay J!

My cute little boy is growing up, he turned 6 on Wednesday,
more to come later...

Kindergarten Graduation!

So fun, yesterday was the first big "last day" of school for Shayden. Yes, our school is a bit late getting out compared to others. It was so cute, they sang their little songs and all the parents gushed. Both DH and I got to go and Jasmine was even ok for the 2 plus hours that we were there. It was been a whirlwind of a year especially since we switched schools part way, but I am so grateful for the chance that he has to go to this amazing charter school.

The stuff they learned is so beyond what I expected--it is so cool.

She made the cutest little grad caps for them, he kind of looked amish though, :)

Grandparent Fun

I am a wee bit behind posting these pictures, I will try to stay more on top of things.

But they are too cute to pass up.
A couple weeks ago we went and saw Thomas the train in Heber City with my parents.

It was a fun day.

We went on a nice little hike with my parents and the kids, on Memorial Day.

The kids were real troopers, we just had to go super slow because Jasmine insisted on walking instead of being carried. There were lot's of patches of snow and we even saw a moose so close!

Then last Saturday my parents came with us to the IHC Health Fair at a park here. It was really fun, Shayden got to have a class with the REAL Soccer Team and he got a t-shirt and soccer ball signed by them. Jasmine had fun getting her face painted and playing on the bouncing toys, etc.

I love that we live so close to my parents that my kids get to see them so often and do lot's of bonding with them.
