Memorial Day Weekend

We went to the Children's Museum with cousins to celebrate Memorial Day. Our cousins are great because they are not afraid to be silly with the little ones.
Like putting on a farm animal costume for a picture :)

Here are the i.n.s.e.p.e.r.a.b.l.e boys with one of their creations.

Another great culmination event for the 3rd grade. This time they did a May Pole and an Opera.
The opera was called Space People Meet the Vikings. It had a Star Wars flair, and Shay was Boba Fett.

The students helped create all of the set and costumes.

Then they sang some fun songs they had learned.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day the boys showered us with a balloon drop.

My mom and her two daughters.

And here I am with my little munchkins. What a great bunch they are! And as crazy of a job as being a mother is, it is the most fulfilling and blessed job there is, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Oh the horror...

Sometimes your boy toddler just comes up to you with the sweetest little face and wants you to put on a cute little princess dress...and what are you to do?

Much Needed Haircut

This kid needed a haircut!
So I took him to the local hair place and bribed him with candy. He did very well.

And this was the end result!
Isn't he a cutie?
Now if only I could learn how to cut it myself and save myself the 10 bucks.

Face Painter in Training

This picture is shocking I know, but I wish I could paint this good! So I sped off for a weekend of training in North Carolina with the best painter I know, Jandy.
We did a great festival together and this time, I actually painted!! But only butterflies and a few princess faces. Can you believe we could charge that much?

Jandy is so amazing to share with me all of her tips and tricks of the trade...I couldn't be where I am with the business without her help. She has given me this wonderful opportunity that has opened up so many doors...I am so grateful to her!

We got a lot of practice in...as you can see...hahaha

Here is Beni, I was chasing him around and finally got one snapshot.
It was a fun trip and helped me gain tons of confidence so that I could gear up to get back and do some of my very own festivals! And I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed a little "me"time watching New Moon, girl talkin' and eating lot's of treats!

Up With Kids

Shayden chose to do acting/singing classes this year and we were so pleased with the quality of the instruction! The teacher was amazing and lived up to her excellent reputation. I think that Shay learned a lot. This year they perfomed a version of Wicked and Shay got the part of the cowardly lion. He was pretty nervous at first, because it was a bigger part, but he did such an awesome job! I think it helped give his self esteem a boost.

They practiced in a church by our house.

This is the opening act, he was right in the middle.

And this is my cute little lion. He did great!

You can tell that he was dancing in this one. So cute!

My Birthday!

We didn't get to go to Disneyland on our birthday this year, but my mom and I did party it up at Boondocks! We took a few lucky ones with us :) and went to use our free pass for mini bowling, arcade fun and more! It was kind of rainy so we couldn't do the race cars or bumper boats, so we got a raincheck and got to go back for Shayden's birthday!

I totally creamed my mom in air hockey!

Skeeball...one of my all time favs

Jonas made me a yummy cake and treated me like a princess of course!
It was a great birthday week!

Shayden Growing up...

Here is Shayden helping dad with mowing the lawn. He is growing up just way too fast!

Easter 2010

In our family we celebrate Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday as two different holidays-kind of.

Basically on Saturday we do all of the worldly fun stuff, and on Sunday we do all of the great spiritual stuff.

Before Easter we went to an Easter Egg Dive for the first time. I had been wanting to go to one of these and Jasmine had a great time. Shayden didn't make it in time, but he still got to swim.

We also went with some friends to another Ginormous egg hunt at This is the Place Monument. Not going to do that again! The kids were lucky enough to get one or two eggs, there were so many people.

On Easter Saturday we went to an egg hunt at these gardens in Salt Lake. The kids had a fun time and got a lot of candy. The funny thing is that they were making everyone wait in this line to get their faces painted in order to hunt. To which my kids were like "lame" because, well, the magic gets lost a bit when your face is painted 3 times per week. :)
Then come to find out they were using this crappy craft paint on kids' faces. Parents Beware!

In the end the let everyone choose, and the kids had fun. Taye was sleeping in the car so Jonas stayed with him.

Then on Saturday night we always make "Resurrection Cookies" and leave them in the oven until morning. I love this tradition, especially as the kids are growing up and remembering more, and participating more too. This is Sunday morning:

On Easter we always have dinner with cousins of course. All of the older cousins always do an Easter Egg hunt for the younger ones, with the candy that they got the day before. It is more of an "Easter Saturday" event, but I let it slide because it's just so darn sweet of them.

Even Taye got to participate with the help of cousin Kiki!

And now that this post is done, I realize that I didn't even get one picture of the kids in their Easter clothes...what did they wear again??? It's a hazard of blogging months behind.
And I am also reminded that I HATE blogger!!! How do you make long posts like this with tons of pictures without it taking an Eternity??? Not to mention that huge gap a the beginning and all of those side margins of words...yuck! I think I have some big plans for this blog coming soon, and it involves moving to Wordpress....can't wait...so stay tuned!

Activity Days

In March I also got a new calling as the Activity Day leader. So I took my girls to get to know each other by having a fun "photo shoot". We did take individual pictures of each of them too, just so you know, not just of me. :)

No photos!

The busier I got with the business, the less pictures I took, apparently. I started taking a million pictures of kids' faces that I had painted, and neglected to take pictures of the every day things that we did. In March of this year, for example, these are the only pictures that I have! They are of a culmination activity for Shay's class in school, and they are blurry even! Ha ha.

February 2010

February was a time of change for me as I quit my job with Early Head Start after 4 1/2 years. It was bitter sweet to leave, especially all of the friendships that I had there, but I know it was the right time. There were several reasons, but especially that I wanted to spend more time pursuing my own business. This picture was taken at my goodbye lunch at my favorite place: Leatherbys!

In February we also went to visit Leah in Idaho. We love love love these guys and our kids play so well together (most of the time) :)
The other pictures is of the ever mischevious Tayevion climbing on the desk to have a little snack.
