Jasmine's Dance Performance

Jasmine was in dance this year for the first time.  This is her at her Christmas performance.  The outfits.  Cute but totally skimpy right?  I so was not a fan.  Lesson learned, when your child is in dance, apparently you have to find out what the recital attire will look like, ahead of time. Shayden kept pointing out how immodest she was being.  Oh well, that's over now and she had fun.  On a side note, she has turned into such a little poser in pictures, funny girl.

September 2010

There were not that many pictures from September so I am just putting them into one post.
We caught up with some friends that we hadn't seen for years!  Sammy and Shay were best friends when they were 3 years old, now look how tall she is.  My kids had their faces painted because I was training a new person to work with me.

These pictures are from a face painting gig that I did up at Suncrest in Draper.  I love it up there!  Jonas' and the kids came with me and he took some cute pictures of the kids.

They love sno cones!

At the end there was a movie in the park for the guests.  We only stayed for a few minutes of that part because by then I was freezing from painting at night.  I hate painting in the cold!

One night we took the kids to the skate park in Sandy and let them ride around in their scooters.

Jasmine toted around her little kitty, it was adorable.

Then we went and did this really short but nice little hike to this cave and waterfall.

The view was spectacular.

The State Fair.  Oh how I love the fair.

Shayden has been overcoming his fears with rides.  A year ago he would have never gone on this ride.

They loved those funny mirrors.

One Saturday we went up to the U of U for the health fair.  It is such a good festival.  Taye fell in love with this pony and wouldn't leave its side.  My parents came with us.
Sidney's birthday.  My sister makes the coolest/yummiest cakes!

For Labor day (I know it's out of order) we went to a movie with cousins and had yogurt at TCBY after.  This was my first encounter with the new yogurt trend.  OH MY I am hooked!!

Visit to Idaho July '10

We went on a trip to see Leah at the end of July and these are some of the pictures of the kids playing.  They had so much fun romping around in the wilderness by their house.  They love it there!! We also went swimming as you can see.

I love the contrast between Rivy (nickname) and Taye.  They are only a few days apart!  Love that.

And what did Leah and I do while all this playing was going on?  Talk and talk and visit and catch up with each other!  It was wonderful!

Liberty Park Quick Reunion

We took the chance to get together with friends from High School while Wendy was in town from California. We headed over to Liberty Park and I can't believe that this ended up being the only time that we went there all summer!
Baby Cole didn't like anyone but me, haha
Okay he really only went to me for like 3 seconds at a time. But he sure is cute!

Here we all are and Susan is preggers :)

School Ends!

Well, another year has ended!

This was at the end of the year carnival. Apparently, this was the only picture I took. My friend Sarah came with us, I am sure she distracted me :)

Kindergarten Ends

The last week of Kindergarten was sure a busy one! First the talent show. Jasmine had been working on her cartwheel. She was doing great at it and had decided this was the talent she wanted to display. But at the very last minute...this is what she did. She played the piano. What did she play you ask? The first few keys of "Oh when the saints" by memory. Most people had no idea what she played. Funny.
Then came the big graduation day. First her teacher (Ms. Jones) had them show off some of the cool dances that they had learned, like this one: "Tooti Tat". Not sure of the spelling on it.

It's a cute little wild and crazy song.

Getting her "diploma".

Waiting for the "ceremony".

Most of the class. What cuties. Now she's a first grader! (ahh!)

Field Trip to the Zoo with Jasmine

It was a rainy day at the zoo, but it was the only field trip that I got to take with her, so I am so glad that I got to go!
Jasmine was standing by this glass and all of a sudden the tigers came running in so close!

The tigers were all out to play!

We saw a great elephant show.

One of the moms kept posing the kids and so I took advantage of the photo op.

Aren't kindergartners adorable?

Another great culmination event for the 3rd grade. This time they did a May Pole and an Opera.
The opera was called Space People Meet the Vikings. It had a Star Wars flair, and Shay was Boba Fett.

The students helped create all of the set and costumes.

Then they sang some fun songs they had learned.

Face Painter in Training

This picture is shocking I know, but I wish I could paint this good! So I sped off for a weekend of training in North Carolina with the best painter I know, Jandy.
We did a great festival together and this time, I actually painted!! But only butterflies and a few princess faces. Can you believe we could charge that much?

Jandy is so amazing to share with me all of her tips and tricks of the trade...I couldn't be where I am with the business without her help. She has given me this wonderful opportunity that has opened up so many doors...I am so grateful to her!

We got a lot of practice in...as you can see...hahaha

Here is Beni, I was chasing him around and finally got one snapshot.
It was a fun trip and helped me gain tons of confidence so that I could gear up to get back and do some of my very own festivals! And I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed a little "me"time watching New Moon, girl talkin' and eating lot's of treats!
