Ten Thousand Villages Program

Throughout the summer we took advantage of this amazing program done by this store 10,000 Villages that promotes fair trade for third world countries. We called it our "culture class" because each week we would go learn about a new country. We learned about Sri Lanka, West Bank, Egypt, India, and a few others. They could talk about the culture and customs, what children do there, read a story and have a snack related to that country, plus some sort of art activity. The kids had little "passports" that they would have stamped each time they went.

How sad that summer has to end...

but don't worry, I have big plans to update my blog this week now that school is in session!
